# Major Oil Access Profiles

Major Oil Access Profiles allow Helpdesk Admins to grant Major Oil Admins (MOA) the ability to view and/or edit configurations and reports for the sites they share with Petro Site Admin (PSA) accounts. Without an Access Profile, Major Oil Admins cannot view or edit site configurations from Commander Central.

Navigation: Administration > Accounts > (Select Major Oil Admin account) > Access Profile. Key concepts:

* Profile - A named set of permissions (e.g. View Fuel Prices, Edit Forecourt). A profile defines what a Major Oil Admin is allowed to see or change.
* Assignment - A profile is assigned to one or more Petro Site Admin (PSA) accounts. After assigned, the MOA gains the profile's permissions for all sites under those PSA accounts.
* Root assignment - A profile can also be assigned at the root level, applying to all PSA accounts associated with the MOA. Merchant-level assignments take priority over root-level assignments.
* One profile per level - Only one profile can be active per root level and per merchant level for a given MOA account.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only Helpdesk Admins can create, update, delete, and assign Access Profiles. Major Oil Admins cannot manage their own profiles.

The following fields and buttons are available on the Create Profile page:

<table><thead><tr><th width="145" valign="top">Field / Button</th><th valign="top">Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Profile Name</td><td valign="top">A name to identify this profile. Choose a descriptive name that reflects the permissions it contains (e.g. 'Fuel Config View Only', 'Full Config Access').</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Permissions</td><td valign="top">A hierarchical list of available permissions grouped under Configuration and Reports. Each item has a View checkbox and, where applicable, an Edit checkbox. See Available Permissions Reference for the full list.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Save</td><td valign="top">Saves the profile with the selected permissions. The profile is added to the Access Profile list for this account.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Discard</td><td valign="top">Cancels profile creation and returns to the Access Profile list without saving.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### **Assigning an Access Profile to PSA Accounts**

After a profile is created, it must be assigned to one or more Petro Site Admin (PSA) accounts before the Major Oil Admin gains access. A profile can be assigned at the root level (applies to all PSA accounts) or at the merchant level (applies to specific PSA accounts only). Merchant-level assignments take priority over root-level assignments.

To assign an Access Profile:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Navigate**

Navigate to Administration > Accounts > (Major Oil Admin account) > Access Profile.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Manage Profiles**

Select Manage Profiles.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Profiles page**

The Manage Profiles page opens with a Select Profile drop-down.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Select profile**

Click the drop-down menu and search for or select the profile to assign.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Select accounts**

After a profile is selected, the list of Petro Site Admin (PSA) accounts that share sites with this Major Oil Admin will appear below — select the accounts to assign the profile to.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Apply**

Select Apply to save the assignment, or Discard to cancel.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

<table><thead><tr><th width="159" valign="top">Field / Button</th><th valign="top">Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Profile</td><td valign="top">Drop-down list of profiles created for this Major Oil Admin account. Select the profile to assign.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">PSA Account List</td><td valign="top">Displays the Petro Site Admin accounts that share sites with this Major Oil Admin. Select one or more accounts to assign the profile at the merchant level.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Company</td><td valign="top">The company name of each Petro Site Admin account, for identification.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Save</td><td valign="top">Saves the assignment and grants the Major Oil Admin the profile's permissions for the selected accounts.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Discard</td><td valign="top">Cancels the assignment without saving changes.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Only one profile can be assigned per level (root or merchant) for a given Major Oil Admin account. Assigning a new profile to an account that already has one at that level replaces the existing assignment.
{% endhint %}

### **Editing an Access Profile**

To update the permissions in an existing Access Profile:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Navigate**

Navigate to Administration > Accounts > (Major Oil Admin account) > Access Profile.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Find profile**

In the profile list, locate the profile to edit.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Open profile**

Select the > chevron on the right of the profile row you want to edit.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Update profile**

Update the Profile Name or permissions as needed.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Save**

Select Save. The updated permissions take effect immediately for any accounts the profile is assigned to.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

<figure><img src="/files/7ZMPnIoeKbuV9S9Lpom9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### **Deleting an Access Profile**

To delete an Access Profile:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Navigate**

Navigate to Administration > Accounts > (Major Oil Admin account) > Access Profile.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Find profile**

In the profile list, locate the profile to delete.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Delete profile**

Select Delete (trash icon) next to the profile.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Confirm delete**

Confirm the deletion in the confirmation prompt. The profile is removed from the list.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Deleting a profile that is currently assigned to PSA accounts will remove the Major Oil Admin's access for those accounts. Ensure the Major Oil Admin no longer requires access before deleting an assigned profile.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://commanderhelp.verifone.com/customer-documentation/petro-and-c-store/commander-central/commander-central-user-guide/major-oil-policy/major-oil-access-profiles.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
