Hardware Installation

Install, connect, and prepare the M425A payment terminal.

Hardware Installation

Use this guide to install the M425A safely. Complete all connections before applying power.

Choose a location

Place the terminal where both the merchant and cardholder can reach it. Keep cables clear of walkways.

  • Keep the device away from heat, moisture, dust, oils, and direct sunlight.

  • Do not use the terminal outdoors or near water.

  • Avoid electrical noise from motors, neon signs, and similar equipment.

  • Disconnect the terminal from the POS before cleaning.

Protect customer PINs

Position the terminal to prevent observation during PIN entry. An adjustable stand or approved privacy shield can reduce shoulder surfing.

Keep security cameras away from the keypad. Instruct cardholders to shield their PIN.

Inspect the shipment

  1. Inspect the carton for damage or tampering.

  2. Validate the sender using the shipping documents and tracking number.

  3. Remove the device, screw, and ordered accessories.

  4. Remove plastic wrapping and the display film.

  5. Inspect the terminal and tamper-evident labels.

  6. Keep the carton and packing materials for future returns.

  3. Remove the rear cover.

  4. Insert each MSAM with its gold contacts facing downward.

  5. Replace the rear cover.

  2. Place it face down on a clean, soft surface.

  3. Remove the rear cover.

  4. Insert the Micro SD card fully into its slot.

  5. Replace the rear cover.

Apply power

The terminal can use an external power pack, USB power, or Ethernet power. Use a dedicated circuit or UPS.

  1. Connect the multiport cable to the rear of the terminal.

  2. Close the rear cover.

  3. Connect the approved power supply to the base module.

  4. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet or surge protector.
