Overview

Feature Description

The Open Price Lookup (PLU) Feature Reference provides an overview of Open PLUs, as well as how to use and configure these PLUs on the Verifone Commander.

The Open PLU feature allows the user to specify one or more PLUs which have no defined price. Each time an Open PLU item is sold, a price is required to be entered.

The sale will be tracked and reported at the item level on the PLU Report.

Configuring Open PLUs

To configure the Open PLU feature:

  1. Configure Open PLU parameters.

  2. Create an Open PLU key for the POS terminals.

Configuring PLU as Open PLU

From the Configuration Client, go to Store Operations > PLUs.

In the Price Look Up Manager window, the parameter Open should be selected to make a PLU as open PLU.

Configure an Open PLU on the Touch Screen

The touch screen configuration is divided into three parts:

  • Panel Configuration

  • Screen Configuration

  • Register Configuration

Register: Each Register/POS can be configured to have one or more screens.

Screens: Each screen has a name and can be configured to have up to three panels. All screens appear as tabs on the register.

User Panel: The area within a screen with these panels is collectively referred to as User Panel.

See the Base 53 and Higher UI User Reference for more information on configuring the Touch Screen UI.
