Mx915-24 Hour reboot

This page will help you with the Pinpad rebooting approximately every 24 hours where the default time is set to 12:00:00

Symptoms

The MX915 restarts about every 24 hours. The default reboot time is usually 12:00:00 (noon).

Collect these before changing settings:

  • Pinpad model: MX915 / other

  • Your goal: change reboot time or disable

  • Do you know the Supervisor password?

  • What daily time do you want (24‑hour format HH:MM:SS)?

Cause

On ViperPay 4.05.02+, a daily (24‑hour) reboot is built into the software for PCI 4.0 devices.

The Pinpad automatically restarts 24 hours after being turned on or last rebooted.

It usually restarts at noon, but you can change the time in System Mode using the steps below.

Fix (change the reboot time)

Enter System Mode

On the Pinpad, press and hold keys 1, 5, and 9 at the same time.

Select Supervisor.

Enter the password 166832.

Press Enter to log in.

Navigate to Date / Time

Go to: Administration → Date/Time

Change the 24‑hour reboot time

Select Set 24 hour reboot time.

Set the time to the daily time you want the device to reboot (24‑hour format HH:MM:SS).

The default is 12:00:00.

Example: If you want the Pinpad to reboot every day at 2:30 AM → set it to 02:30:00

Reboot

Once the setting is saved, reboot the Pinpad for the change to take effect.

The 24-hour reboot feature is enabled by default in versions ViperPay 4.05.02+ for PCI 4.0 devices and continues in versions 4.05.03.xx and newer.

If you can’t log in as Supervisor

  • Confirm you selected Supervisor (not Operator).

  • If the password 166832 does not work, stop and contact your helpdesk. Ask them to confirm the correct Supervisor password for your site.
