Fix a fuel prepay underrun/overrun showing a red dollar amount as a DUE sale by re-running Prepaid MOP (credit/debit) so the network completes payment.
The pump shows a RED dollar amount.
The Prepay appears as a DUE sale (often after a Reserve Stop / interrupted Prepay).
The customer did not dispense the full Prepay amount (Underrun).
The customer dispensed more than the Prepay amount (Overrun).
Example: Customer prepays $20.00 but dispenses $22.35.
The extra $2.35 becomes a DUE amount that must be completed correctly so the site gets paid.
The transaction was Stopped/Refunded due to a Reserve Stop, leaving a Due amount.
Do not cash out the sale or use Manual Credit to clear the sale.
The network does not receive either of these tenders as a completion, which can result in the site NOT getting Paid for the transaction.
On the register, select:
Pump# > Fuel > Prepaid MOP (Credit or Debit)
The transaction is processed through the Network, resulting in one of the following scenarios:
Network complete:
The Due amount completes Successfully.
Prompt to Present the Card again:
If prompted, have the Customer use the Card again
Debit: Have the customer Swipe/Insert/Tap again.
Credit: Have the customer run the Card again or enter it Manually (Expiration Date may be required).
Check the journal tape:
If the Account number and Expiration Date are present, you can safely cash out the sale using Cash or Manual Credit.
Then, Ring the sale back up, preferably under the Manual Fuel Department.
Select the Pump# and the Grade of Fuel the customer dispensed on.
This sends the transaction amount to the Network for completion, so your site gets paid.
