Stuck Prepay on Pump with Dollar amount in Green

How to clear a pump stuck in Prepay with a green dollar amount on Topaz and Ruby2/C18 registers (Stop Fuel and tender out or cash out the fuel sale).

If the Pump is Stuck in Prepay — Dollar Amount is in Green

Symptoms

• The pump is stuck in a Prepay state.
• A Green dollar amount remains on the pump.
• The sale will not Clear normally (even after attempting to Stop/Cancel the Prepay).

Common Causes

• The prepay flow was interrupted (for example: register/pump communication glitch).

To Clear, perform the following steps:

For Topaz register

• Press Pump# > press Prepay (do not enter amount) > press Stop

For Ruby2/C18 register

• Look for a Stop Fuel button on the touchscreen.
• If there isn’t one, it needs to be added to the touchscreen.
• Once added: Tap Pump# > tap Prepay (do not enter amount) > tap Stop Fuel
• Go to the sales screen and tender out the sale.
